H.A.T.E.

What is hate? We often define this as an emotion, a negative term, and the worse possible feeling that a person can feel. I believe unconciously we decide to relate this term to a person, a place, a thing, or something intangible. Better believe once it's said you can't take it back. Biblically speaking, there are positive and negative aspects to hatred. It is acceptable to hate those things that God hates; indeed, this is very much a proof of a right standing with God. “Let those who love the Lord hate evil” (Psalm 97:10a). Indeed, the closer our walk with the Lord and the more we fellowship with Him, the more conscious we will be of sin, both within and without. Do we not grieve and burn with anger when God’s name is spoken in vain, when we see spiritual hypocrisy, when we see blatant unbelief and godless behaviour? The more we understand attributes and love God’s character, the more we will be like Him and the more we will hate those things that are contrary to His Word and nature.

I have to say that I have only experienced this feeling once in life, unfortunately, I am still working on this because there is nothing worse than going against what God has allowed to happen in your life. Don't block what God has for you because of what someone has done/said to you. We feel this way when we are temporarily disconnected from God. Just like the Lord blesses us the devil blesses those that follow him or are against him as well. He makes us believe or thinkthat what we are feeling is excusable and indeed it's not! Don't be fooled, the saying God places people in our life for a reason, season, or lifetime and it's our decision whether they stay or not is so true. Along with saying that things happen for a reason, as he allows situations to happen but all things work together for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28).

Prayer is key, work on those things that hinder your walk with the Lord, along with having a spirit of discernment to decipher between what is coming from God and those things of the devil. Let go of those ill feelings and let the good inside of you prevail. Walk by faith and not by sight. Ask God to give you peace where there is none in sight, hope where there seems to be no way out, and strength to make it through! Know that you are more than a conqueror and if God brought you to it, he'll bring ya through it!
